AncestryLibrary
AncestryLibrary is a searchable text and image database of family history and genealogy materials including census and voter data; birth, marriage, and death records; immigration records including passenger lists; naturalization records; selected court, land and probate records; emigration records; United States border crossing information; and United States military and draft records. The bulk of the census data included is from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Western Europe; there are also a limited number of censuses from other parts of the world and U.S. state censuses.

Consumer Product Information Database (CPID)

Find safety and health information for products used in and around the home.

HealthSource Consumer Edition

This full-text database covers a wide variety of subjects, including information on specific diseases as well as overall health topics from consumer health magazines and reference materials.

PubMed
PubMed has more than 36 million citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books. Citations may include links to full-text content from PubMed Central and publisher web sites. Learn more about how to limit your search to articles that have free full text available. 


Wellness Through Answers
Wellness Through Answers (WTA) is the consumer health service at UConn Health's Lyman Maynard Stowe Library. The Stowe Library is the only health sciences library in Connecticut open to the public. WTA provides free, confidential information and research services to Connecticut residents. They will respond to customer requests within one working day. Law & Legal Aid

Connecticut Judicial Branch Law Libraries' Find Help Web Page
The Law Libraries provide access to different types of legal sources. You may contact them for questions regarding legal representation, including Volunteer Attorney Programs, Legal Clinics, Advocacy Groups, and Statewide Legal Aid.

The Law Libraries’ Representing Yourself web page contains videos and print materials intended to help self-represented litigants (SRLs) understand the legal process by providing general, basic information regarding Connecticut court procedures.
The page contains five categories that expand when you click on them:
  1. Research Starting Points offer ways to connect with the law libraries and legal aid.  They also contain links to different legal topics in a simple format (law by subject pages) and a more in-depth format (research guides).
  2. Connecticut Civil Lawsuit Videos offer information on how to start a lawsuit and explain some of the common motions that may follow.
  3. Self-Help Information Cards offer answers to common questions that SRLs have in a 1 or 2 page format that is easy to read.
  4. Helpful Links consist of links on the Connecticut Judicial Branch website that SRLs find helpful when pursuing their cases.
  5. How-To Instruction Videos contain slide-casts on how to fill out various forms and first steps in starting or defending against a small claims lawsuit.​

Full text access to many of the top consumer legal reference books and thousands of legal forms. Many legal reference books are provided through Nolo, the nation’s oldest and most-respected provider of legal information for consumers and small businesses.

​​National Library for The Blind and Physically Handicapped

National Library Service (NLS) is a free braille and talking book library service for people with temporary or permanent low vision, blindness, or a physical, perceptual, or reading disability that prevents them from using regular print materials. Through a national network of cooperating libraries, NLS circulates books and magazines in braille or audio formats, that are instantly downloadable to a personal device or delivered by mail free of charge.

Eligible borrowers can apply for exclusive use of this service in English and in Spanish. In addition, eligible individuals may access over 17,000 titles, which are available for download through NLS’s Braille and Audio Reading Download (BARD) site. An application for access to BARD is required and available on the NLS Bard website here.
