Southington Public Library participates in automated renewals. All materials will automatically renew twice except items with holds, those on which you owe fines, downloadable items, or items with restricted renewal. If you have an email address attached to your library account, you will receive an email listing the items renewed and their new due dates.
Be aware renewals follow the same loan rules as the initial item checkout. For example, if you renew a new book that was initially checked out for 14 days, you will receive 14 additional days beginning from the date of the renewal.
To renew items on your own, sign into your library account and navigate to "Checkouts" to see materials that are currently checked out to you. Click "Renew All" or tick the boxes for the individual items you’d like to renew and click "Renew Marked." For help, call Reference at 860-628-0947 x5.
Prefer to renew over the phone? Call Circulation at 860-628-0947 x2 and ask a staff member to renew your materials. Please have your library card number on hand, because it will be needed for phone renewals.
Items will not be renewed in the following circumstances:
The item has been requested by another borrower.
The item has already been renewed 2 times, which is the maximum number allowable.
The item is non-renewable (Ready2Read, for example).
The total fines on your account have exceeded $10.00.
