The Southington Library has a wide selection of in-house book group titles available to borrow. If your book group is interested in reserving titles not included on our in-house list, please read and follow our book group guidelines below. Scroll down to see our extensive list of books.
Book Group Guidelines
In order to serve book groups to the best of our ability, we require all book groups to follow the guidelines below:
If requests are submitted less than 3 weeks prior to the requested pick-up date, the title must be available from our in-house book group collection. Due to unpredictable shipping and processing times, requests made less than 3 weeks in advance cannot be guaranteed to arrive in time.
Book picks with a publication date of less than 1 year prior cannot be guaranteed to arrive. Many libraries in our consortium will not loan new books to other libraries. Popular books with long waitlists will be denied. When submitting a request, please have an alternate pick ready.
Book groups are always welcome to submit a list in advance. Doing so allows the book group librarian to make sure all picks will be available well in advance or to make appropriate suggestions to help your book group get the books you want. When submitting a list in advance, once it is okayed, we will keep a copy and make sure the books arrive when your group is ready to pick them up.
In order to serve book groups to the best of our ability, we require all book groups to follow the guidelines below:
- Requests must be made to the librarian in charge of book groups at least 3 weeks prior to the requested pick up date.
- Books must have been published at least 1 year prior to the requested date.
- Books are picked up at the Reference Desk and checked out at the Circulation Desk. Please let the Circulation Desk know when your book group is meeting so they can extend your due date.
