Bookstore Hours

Monday, Thursday, Friday:  2 PM-5 PM
Tuesday & Wednesday:  2 PM-9 PM

The Friends of the Southington Library are dedicated to promoting the library's programs and providing a strong and lasting legacy to the residents of Southington through its many financial initiatives. They also provide our Friends Bookstore, which is located on the Lower Level.

It has been through the good work of the Friends
that many new features and programming initiatives within the Library have been made possible. One of the most exciting programs the Friends have engaged in is the scholarship program, where they continue to give up to $1,000 scholarships to deserving high school students going on to college

WHY NOT JOIN THE FRIENDS?

The Friends are a non-profit, tax-exempt, organization that operates through a volunteer corps to benefit the Library.  It is a good deal of fun to help others, and the Friends are a nice way to give back to the community.  Becoming a Friend is worthwhile, giving many worthwhile and energizing opportunities through working in the bookstore or serving on special committees. Just by supporting the Friends with their annual membership dues of $5 per year for individuals, $10 for families, $25 for patrons, and $100 for a lifetime membership, a great deal of good can be done. As a "Thank You" gift to those who become Life Members, an attractive and sturdy Friends book bag will be reserved for you.  Furthermore, "New Friends” receive a 50% discount on their first bookstore purchase, which can add up fast if you are a reader or looking for special gifts for special people!
